God has given us a great love

It has come to mind more and more lately that God has given us a great love o extend to others coming out of hardships and despair that gives us the strength to extend a hand during transition week after week at our fellowship and all the additional services every day. It’s either JESUS or my husband and I are insane for the sacrifices made day in and day out. I don’t say that with a boastful spirit, but with a true love for the people we serve.

I was told one time you must really have a calling to do what you do! For us the love comes easy. We could love, listen and support people all night and more that we interact with! In fact we prefer it because there is a deep level of authenticity that we don’t encounter too often. It is the labor intensity and need for volunteers and funding that is a great challenge. Sure we do have our share of relational and behavioral issues to contend with as so many people are in a transformation stage and certainly not perfect. But who is?

What an honor we get to be part of the transformation process and a stop on the road for someone who is growing, seeking, and reaching out. When I think about this, it gives me the encouragement to go on!

Won’t you join us in this transformation opportunity?

Fundraising thoughts

We have been in the process of an online fundraising platform campaign. It was something new to try and we didn’t know completely how it worked or what the potential was going to be. With under 27 days left and communicating through Face Book, emails, texts and Linked In, we haven’t faired so well. But with everything it is a learning experience and through it we have obtained a lot of connections through Linked In. The flip side is we hopefully will get more exposure and potential interest in our organization over time. We post and communicate a lot about our mission, needs and yes we ask for donations. We wonder if people get tired of hearing about it? We can only be diligent in our service to people and advertise different fundraising options in the hopes that one day someone or several people/ groups will believe in what we are doing and help us in a greater capacity with time, goods and funding.

We connected with a few groups with similar focuses as addiction on Linked in. I don’t know why I was surprised to get a mocking comment about the cross in our logo and a comment about why God asks for money? Wow. God isn’t asking for money, we are asking? Why? Because it takes money to help people. My husband and I give our time and our own personal money with this adventure. We have a great love for the people we serve and we don’t expect everyone else to or care about what we are doing. But as with any Non-Profit or “cause”, you have to get the word out in the hopes that the people who do believe may want to rally around the cause and give of their time and yes money. We are a self-supporting organization. My husband and I do not get paid for what we do. One day if grants come in or millionaire philantrarists believe in what we do, perhaps my husband can work full-time for Full Circle so we can accomplish so much more.

I read once that if we “Speak out loud” and “Pray” about our thoughts, desires and dreams God will bless us. We have seen God work in the past. We are trying to do our part and hold on and trust God will bring about provision for our needs in time. It’s not an easy road and we wonder sometimes why God has given us this great love and desire to help people better their lives from hardships and addictions, while we have our own hardships, but we trust HE knows more than us and we keep on persevering. The people we serve are a blessing and they bring us a delight!

New Opportunity to Expand our Services

We are pursuing an exciting opportunity to expand Full Circle’s services which is in line with our vision! We hope to find a warehouse space close by to the building we sublease for our Saturday fellowship venue. If we are able to obtain this space we would utilize it for our office, resource area, storehouse for furniture / house hold items, clothes and dried goods to serve the community. In addition during the week we would now be able to hold mini 12 steps, book studies, sponsor meetings, classes and youth activities. There are many thoughts and ideas if we could seize this opportunity.

If anyone has a tug on their heart to know about this and consider a potential partnership with us financially we would be grateful. We would enjoy the opportunity to meet with you and share our proposal for this adventure.

Robert sharing experience with Full Circle

photo (5)

My Name is Robert Balignasay. Over a year ago, I was brought to Full Circle for a meeting by guys in Drug Court. After the first meeting I felt welcomed into the Full Circle family! It didn’t matter who you were, what you have done, just as long as you showed up. The fellowship is positive, encouraging and spiritual. Since then I have made this my home meeting.

Larry explains what step we are working on with his own life experiences. Susan always knows everybody by name and gives us a hug and asks how are things going. I worked the Steps with Scotty and Floyd which gave me the spiritual aspect of the Steps, and how they are applied to our daily lives. I have a relationship with my higher power, Jesus Christ, because of Full Circle and allowed me to handle my mom’s passing on October 15th 2012 and then my brother passing on May 6, 2013. Full Circle has changed how I handle situations and treat people in my life. The handouts of the steps have been very helpful and a tool to reflect on that no other meeting does. Thanks Full Circle for being an instrument in my recovery!
